As summer arrives, Torre Faro is preparing to welcome a significant influx of tourists and residents. To better manage traffic and enhance the visitor experience, several changes to the area's traffic and parking regulations have been implemented, effective from June 15 until September.
Pedestrian Zone and Traffic Regulations
Starting June 15, the pedestrian zone will be active daily from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. The pedestrian zone includes:
The area in front of the Madonna della Lettera Church.
The section of via Torre between via Rando and via Pozzo Giudeo.
The section of via Fortino between via Lanterna and via Barresi.
Access will be restricted to most vehicles, with exceptions for emergency vehicles (police, ambulances, fire trucks), vehicles serving disabled persons, and residents' vehicles accessing courtyards and garages.
Paid Parking
Paid parking will be available daily from 8:00 AM to midnight in the following areas:
Right side of via Senatore Francesco Arena.
Right side of the section of via Palazzo (for 200 meters from the intersection with via Circuito).
“Torri Morandi” Parking lot on via Pozzo Giudeo, served by a free shuttle bus on Atm's line 38.
Parking rates are as follows:
Hourly: €1.00.
Morning/Afternoon (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM): €3.00.
Afternoon/Evening (4:00 PM - midnight): €3.00.
Daily (8:00 AM - midnight): €5.00.
Resident and Business Owner Benefits
Residents, tenants, and business owners will receive specific parking benefits:
via Senatore Francesco Arena: free parking for residents of the same street.
via Palazzo (between via Circuito and via Ribaud): free parking on the right side for 200 meters from the intersection with via Circuito.
Area bounded by via Torre, via Pozzo Giudeo, via Scuole, and via Rando: free parking in these zones.
via Pozzo Giudeo (between via Scuole and the intersection with via Leanza and via Senatore Arena): reserved parking area adjacent to the “Torri Morandi” parking lot.
No Parking Zones
No parking will be enforced:
On both sides of via Barresi to facilitate the Atm shuttle bus, with vehicle removal for violations.
Traffic Changes
From 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM, the following mandatory directions will be enforced:
Right turn only at the intersections of via Cariddi with via Palazzo and via Rando with via Torre.
Straight ahead only at the intersection of via Torre with via Fortino.
In the coming days, new vertical and horizontal signage will be installed to indicate these changes, including mobile barriers to define the pedestrian zone.
These measures aim to improve traffic management and visitor access, enhancing the livability of Torre Faro during the summer season.
