The Capo Peloro peninsula is defined by a beach that stretches along its entire coastline, from the picturesque village of Ganzirri to the serene area of Mortelle. The most iconic point of this shoreline is found in Torre Faro, where the natural beauty reaches its peak, captivating all who visit.
Punta del Faro / Capo Peloro beach
In the fishing village of Torre Faro, located at the northernmost tip of Sicily, lies Punta del Faro beach, recognized not only as one of the most captivating and picturesque beaches on the island but also among the most beautiful in Italy, according to National Geographic.

Here, the Ionian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea meet, creating a stunning interplay of currents and colors that make this place truly unique. Punta del Faro overlooks the Strait of Messina, offering breathtaking views, including the Calabrian mountains in the distance, often veiled by a light mist that adds a touch of magic to the landscape.

Strolling along the sandy beach feels like stepping into a world of natural harmony, where water, sky, and land blend together in perfect balance. The crystal-clear, turquoise waters reveal a seabed of pebbles and sand, while some stretches of the coast are adorned with Mediterranean vegetation, enhancing the landscape with an authentic and untamed charm.

The beach is accessible to everyone, offering both free areas (including pet-friendly sections) for those seeking a simple and direct connection with nature, and equipped beach clubs, which provide sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, and refreshments for a comfortable day by the sea.

Punta del Faro is not just a beach: it’s an experience to be savored with all your senses, a place where nature offers unforgettable moments of wonder.

Ganzirri / Capo Peloro Beach
On the Ionian side of the Strait, Ganzirri Beach unfolds along Via Marina, extending on both sides of the historic Saracen Tower.
This quiet stretch of coastline reflects the authentic soul of the village. It is a shoreline lived every day by fishermen and locals, where the sea gently accompanies the rhythms of life.

In the early morning, on days favorable for fishing, you might catch sight of the traditional feluche setting out to sea. These slender boats, used for centuries in swordfish fishing, are still a vivid part of the local scene.
In some areas, a long cement-like formation runs along the shore, possibly the trace of an ancient coastal route. This feature gives the coastline a distinctive look and shapes the way the sea meets the land.

There are no beach facilities or services directly on site, reflecting the area's informal and local character. Yet just a short walk away, Ganzirri offers everything you might need. Within 150 to 200 meters, you’ll find cafés, bakeries, small shops, and some of the finest restaurants in the city, where the local culinary tradition reaches its peak!

Ganzirri is centered around its lake, not its waterfront. Yet this quiet, understated beach adds depth to the place. It invites you to observe more than to swim, to slow down rather than rush.
